CIDR which also stands for Classless Inter-Domain Routing, is an IP addressing scheme that replaces the older system based on classes A, B, and C. By splitting a large CIDR into smaller CIDR blocks, we can optimize the IP address usage and improve network management by segmenting it into smaller, more manageable units. This is useful when you need to separate between different departments in the same network.
